Maximize the capability of your 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ with this 4.5-inch lift kit with long arm conversion from BDS Suspension. Designed to improve stance this kit includes everything necessary to set your truck up right with clearance for up to 32 inch Tires. By maximizing the length of both the upper and lower control arms, BDS has minimized caster change for optimal handling and minimized road forces.

Up front the lift kit includes a belly pan with new pivot mounts, heavy duty lower flex arms and adjustable upper flex arms to optimize handling characteristics, 4.5 inch Pro-Ride coil springs capable of full coil bind and bump stop extensions to control the compression travel, but increase wheel travel.

The rear kit utilizes Glide-Ride leaf springs for maximum travel and stainless braided brake line to allow the springs to flex. Finish off the kit with your choice of specially tuned NX2 nitro series gas shocks or FOX 2.0 Internal Floating Piston performance series gas shocks to offer improved damper performance.

Long Arm Conversion

Upgrading the standard control arms to a long arm adds strength, improves handling and takes offroad articulation to the next level. This upgrade consists of massive 1/4 inch steel frame mounted brackets to install the oversized upper and lower formed long arms.

The arms are formed for maximum Tire clearance and allow the stock control arm tabs to remain on the vehicle. The upper arms are solid stock while the heavy wall tubular lower arms utilize oversized greaseable polyurethane bushings for superior road vibration isolation.

Pro-Ride Coil Springs

A pair of full-length, Jeep-specific, Pro-Ride coil springs are supplied to provide the correct lift height and smooth, predictable ride across various terrains. Manufactured from high tensile steel, our direct OE replacement coil springs are engineered with properly sized wire diameter. This results in maximum reliability without premature coil bind.

1. Measure the rear u-bolts before ordering. Some XJ's are equipped with a Dana 44 rear axle.
2. CV style rear driveshaft (not included) and slip yoke eliminator kit is required.
3. System only works with 4.0L motor and automatic transmission.
4. '96 and earlier models may require a longer emergency brake cable.

Rear Axle Option

• Chrysler 8.35

The Jeep Cherokee was produced with two different rear axles (Chrysler 8.25 or Dana 35). You will need to measure your rear u-bolts to ensure that you get the correct new u-bolts. Basically, just measure the diameter of the axle or the I.D. of your rear u-bolts.

Chrysler axles require 3 inch wide u-bolts and Dana 35 axles require 2-3/4 inch wide u-bolts. Some 1987-90 models came with a Dana 44. Measure and call BDS for proper u-bolt fitment.
