American Racing Was Founded
Founded in 1956 by drag racing forefather and innovator, Romeo Palamides, American Racing quickly became synonymous with performance by offering cutting edge, magnesium aftermarket wheels during America’s formative racing years. American Racing will go on to establish itself as the leader in aftermarket wheels in the drag racing and muscle car community for decades to come.

1963
Torque Thrust is Born
The most iconic wheel of all time, the Torq Thrust, was developed in 1963 and is still going strong almost 60 years later. The simple, lightweight, 5-spoke design has been the most sought-after wheel design ever. Hot Rod Magazine has named the American Racing Torq Thrust one of the top 20 speed parts that changed the world. Unsurpassed style and performance that exceeds its imitations.

Made For The Big Screen
American Racing has carved its legacy in mainstream culture. Featured on some of the most famous TV and movie cars of all time, our wheels have starred as automotive lead roles in: Bullitt, Dukes of Hazard, and Two-Lane Blacktop. The most iconic wheels are forever represented in Hollywood history.

Throughout the years, American Racing wheels have been involved with just about all forms of racing. From drag, desert, to Trans Am racing, we have been at the forefront of victory. In addition to the Torq Thrust, wheels like the Libre, LeMans, 200S, and Baja have all been used by winning race teams.

The technology and innovation that have pushed American Racing to continually develop new and exciting products continue to this day. Magnesium wheels, which were cutting edge technology in their day, have given way to forged aluminum wheels. Stronger and lighter than cast alternatives, the American Racing Forged line is 100% made in the USA. Our custom wheels are handcrafted of 6061 forged Aluminum and made to order by size, style fitment, and finish.
