It works in conjunction with the \nvehicle rear door and lock. \n\nThe lid easily hinges open and is secured shut using Tuffy's patented \nsecurity system. In comparison with our #299 JK deck enclosure, the lid,\n vertical front panel and complete side panels can be easily removed \nwithout tools so larger items can be transported when required. The \nunique lid design is not attached to the front panel and is constructed \nfrom weight bearing structural welded steel.\n\nThe entire Tuffy deck enclosure is constructed using welded 16 gauge \nsteel, heavy duty fasteners, and finished with a durable textured powder\n coating. The steel Tuffy side panel does not rely on the deck sidewall \n(wheel well) to create an enclosed space adding an additional level of \nsecurity.\n\nThe patented design quickly and easily installs to the vehicle floor \nwith standard hand tools in both 2 and 4 door models with and without an\n OEM hardtop. 2-door rear seat can still be used with the mounting \nsystem installed but it must be stowed, folded and tumbled when the \nentire deck enclosure is installed. \n\nIt functions with the OEM compartment cover, OEM Subwoofer and\/or the \nTuffy Cubby Cover Part#143. The vehicle power lock switches on the \ntailgate become disabled after approximately 16 seconds when locking the\n doors with the key fob so the enclosure remains secured.
